Garden Ideas: Smaller Landscapes – Pots and Vertical Gardens

April 7, 2014

The use of containers is ideal for townhouse gardens, pots are perfect for seasonal colour; veggies and herbs are happy to be containedsucculents potted in an indigenous setting will add interest.   Container colours, designs, shapes, materials and ideas are endless.

Creative Uses for Pots

Three similar pots of varying heights can create an interesting feature giving elevation to an otherwise level area.  Pots attached to walls can break the dullness of a flat wall, and single large ornamental pots create beautiful artistic effects or can be used as a water feature creating movement and tranquil water sounds in the garden.

In some areas where horizontal space is limited, build a vertical garden.  Vertical planting can be a climber growing up a wall or fenceor a window box or other wall mounted container.
