Spekboom plants are well-known for their air-purifying qualities, and this is one of the main reasons that people are trying to plant more of them. How exactly does Spekboom improve air quality? Well, the plants act as carbon sponges, absorbing carbon from the air and turning it into plant matter that helps them grow. Did you know that one hectare of Spekboom can remove 4-10 tonnes of carbon from the air per year? Quite remarkable.
